What’s included in a Geelong roof clean.
1. High-pressure water blast (3,000–3,500 psi)
Full surface clean of every tile or metal sheet using a 30° spinning nozzle on a calibrated wand. We start at the ridge and work down so debris flushes off the eave naturally. Tile valleys and metal seams get a second pass. We do NOT use domestic-grade pressure washers — they don’t shift Geelong’s baked-in coastal grime.
2. Biocide treatment for moss & lichen
Geelong’s humid summer air and shaded south-facing roof slopes — especially in Newtown, Geelong West, and the Otway-side suburbs — grow moss and lichen aggressively. We apply a sodium-hypochlorite-based biocide (60% concentrate) and let it dwell 20 minutes before a final flush. Lichen typically lifts off the tile face within 7–14 days post-treatment.
3. Full gutter clear-out
We hand-scoop and vacuum every metre of gutter. Downpipes get a flush test. Ground-level overflow sites get inspected. If a downpipe is blocked or disconnected at the stormwater point we flag it before we leave — usually $80–$220 to rectify on the same visit.
4. Drone before-and-after
Every clean ends with a top-down drone fly-over. You get the photos by the next morning so you can see what was actually achieved up there.

What we won’t do.
We don’t use chlorine on a roof you intend to paint within 6 weeks — the residue interferes with primer adhesion. We don’t walk on brittle terracotta without a roof ladder spreading the load. And we don’t spray tile undersides from inside the roof cavity (you’ll regret that one when the insulation gets wet).
